Helicopter flight training scholarship applications started being accepted by Helicopter Flight
International, "HFI", on June 01, 2013. The deadline for the helicopter flight training scholarship application is November 01, 2013. There will be a total of 19 scholarships being provided by HFI to students of the helicopter industry.
Ben Lewis, CFI-I, Flight Instructor, Guidance Aviation, Prescott Flight Operations, recently logged 1,000 incident free helicopter flying hours, was awarded the Safety Excellence Award, and helped to save some lives while piloting "Rescue 1" as a Yavapai County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Pilot. - The Commercial Rating Helicopter Scholarship is for those students who have earned their Private Pilot Rating and are working towards their Commercial Rating. Four scholarships total will be awarded in this category.
- The Maintenance Technician Certificate Scholarship is for those students who are studying to become Maintenance Techs. Up to six scholarships are being awarded in this category.
- Up to eight of the Bill Sanderson Scholarships will also be
awarded to students in the Maintenance Tech field of study. - The Michelle North Scholarship for Safety will be awarded
to a commercially rated pilots who have an outstanding
safety record.
