Helicopters, Helipads, and Houseboats: "Miss Guided" Training Adventures for Student Helicopter Pilots

by Guy Roginson

If you're looking for a helicopter flight training school with a bird's eye view of God's country and a blue eyed instructor who will lure you to her helipad floating on emerald waters, look no further than Northern Arizona where you have access to lakes, mountains, golden sunrises, purple sunsets, white sand beaches, and a lady aptly named "Miss Guided".

She is the 75' foot floating flagship of Guidance Aviation, complete with helipad.  Students have the opportunity to log cross country time, turbine time, as well as a platform landing or two.  If there's time, you may be able to grab lunch and test the second or third story slide which ends with a splash in Lake Powell where the water is about 70 degrees in the summer.  Check out one of our student videos on a recent flight to "Miss Guided".
